Red Bull Curates Chicago

     

                                                           

   

I was recently asked to participate in the Red Bull Curates, Canvas Wrapped Cooler Project, along with 19 other artists from Chicago. Above is my finished cooler that I painted yesterday in roughly 7 hours using a couple brushes and black latex paint. My cooler acts as a homage to passed Mississippi Bluesmen : Junior Kimbrough, Fred McDowell, and Son House. Opening reception and viewing of all 20 coolers is Thursday, May 16th at Lacuna Artist's Lofts. 9pm-12pm. 2150 Canalport, Chicago, IL. The event is free and open to everyone, definitely worth checking out.

Sneak peak of the finished cover artwork I drew for the Linework Vol. 4 comics anthology. The finished book will be available for purchase at local Chicago comic stores and online early next month. Check out lineworkanthology.tumblr.com for updates about the anthology and the artists involved.

I'm included in a group show "The Young and Restless" which opens up in about two weeks at the brand new Vertical Gallery. The opening reception is April 6th from 6-9 PM. Vertical Gallery at 1016 N. Western Ave., Chicago, IL. Show runs until April 27th, gallery hours are Tues- Sat from 11-6. Hope to see you there.
