I was recently asked to participate in the Red Bull Curates, Canvas Wrapped Cooler Project, along with 19 other artists from Chicago. Above is my finished cooler that I painted yesterday in roughly 7 hours using a couple brushes and black latex paint. My cooler acts as a homage to passed Mississippi Bluesmen : Junior Kimbrough, Fred McDowell, and Son House. Opening reception and viewing of all 20 coolers is Thursday, May 16th at Lacuna Artist's Lofts. 9pm-12pm. 2150 Canalport, Chicago, IL. The event is free and open to everyone, definitely worth checking out.
